Grover Jones is a main character in both seasons of Freakish. He is one of the original 9 surviving Kent High School students after the local Keller Chemical Plant accident. He had been at the school attending detention so he could get closer to his crush, Violet Adams, the day of the explosion. Both of his parents worked at Keller Chemical.
He is played by actor Leo Howard.
Early Life[]
Grover has a younger sister Mary, who he always looks out for, and his parents worked at the Keller Chemical Plant. He seems to be a bit of a loner, not having many friends and he has a crush on Violet Adams.
He decides to go to detention the day of the explosion, even though he doesn't need to, so he can get closer to Violet. Diesel Turner and Lyle make fun of him while there, making it seem as though he isn't very popular.

Physical Appearance[]
Personality[]
He has been described as a loner and an outcast, at least at the start of the show. Not much else is known about him or his popularity at school, but Diesel and Lyle tease and taunt him in detention. Grover from the start of the series has shown to be a consummate liar. This is shown given he lied to get into detention to get close to a cute girl. While these lies he spins are mostly to ensure some gain for himself but also for what he thinks is for the best in a situation. Such as when a survivor comes back to school, claiming "all were dead," he refused to divulge the information, maintaining obliviousness to what he heard to prevent others from panicking, despite the situation at the time requiring more information to be disseminated to everyone. Later he lies again to his sister, to keep her calm when she is bitten by a freak, which culminates him lying to the other survivors about her status. And then when he finds out Keller specifically had orders to retrieve him, he keeps this to himself and outright lies to avoid his friends from casting suspicion on him. Other characters like Barrett have lied, though in his case he was doing so for the greater good to expose Keller's nefarious chemical experiments and to keep his friends safe.
Whilst Grover who at times is genuinely good person and wants do the right thing, but fails to see the larger picture in surviving, and is distracted by own his self-interest and selfishness. At best he is naive optimist and at worst a hypocrite.
Another trait of Grover is his vindictiveness, as he judges others based on their past mistakes, though fails to understand his own flaws are no better.
